The elderly community is one of our most vulnerable groups of people in society. It is absolutely essential that they receive high quality care when it comes to medical and emotional service providing. A huge barrier to seeking care in this demographic is accessibility.
In most cases of optical care in aged care facilities, service providers will only come and visit when a minimum patient quota is met per visit. This is problematic as any one patient cannot be seen to at their own convenience, let alone have any autonomy and independence over their own healthcare.
That’s where mobile optometry comes in. When we were developing our service at Zephyr Medical, we wanted to ensure that anyone and everyone can rely easily on optical care, no matter their circumstances. We are independently owned, which means we have no other agenda than giving the upmost optical care to those who need it. The Zephyr Medical team have no minimum patient quota, which means we will come and see any number of patients – one or many – in an allocated visit.
